Default [Resolved] Text & Background all BLACK

Hey all, I have been tweaking my comp all week and last night I was putting desktop pics thru the website method rather than then norm. I dont know what happened next, I coughed or something and now every thing is black. I can see Icons and the desktop icons have white text but everything else is black and I cant navigate to fix this. I tryed to do a windows repair and that ddnt do anything but wipe away all my tweaks Im sure. Help. I run xp, amd semprom cpu, biostar mobo, nforce chipset, 700 mg of ram. geforce fx 5200 vid, sb sound. yada yada....any ideas?

Hello, h4rders. Is this the same pc?:

If so, I would still recommend what I suggested there as a stepping off spot. If not, do you want me to close the other thread?

thanks,

v

do the usual troubleshooting; replace with a known good monitor (including it's cables), see if it still happens. If it does, replace with a known good video card, check that. After that, it gets a bit more difficult.

Post back and let us know how that goes. Do you still want/need the other thread open?

thanks,

v
