Open the window to the size you want it to be - hold down ctrl and then close the window. Next time it opens it will remember what size you chose.

Hmm...are you closing it whilst holding down the ctrl key and using the red "X" top right of the window?

Default a slight mis understanding ...

hi all, i am now back home, after struggling most of the day 100 miles away trying to sort my friends computer out.

I didnt explain myself quite right, we havent yet got it connected to the internet from his wired PC, as i am sure when we get this done the wireless laptop will be a breeze.

The PC tower has been connected to the internet with an ADSL modem into a USB port, he now has a Router/Modem combined and i fitted a PCI network card to connect the Router/Modem to the PC (with the correct RJ45 network cable) , the original phone cable from the wall socket to the original modem now goes into the other side of the Router/Modem.

and the trouble is the (wired) PC Tower doesnt want to connect to the Router, until it does this !, there is no way it can connect to the internet !. so there is no need to even try the wireless lap top until then. LOL.

PS. i did succeed in connecting to the router/modem with my Lap Top which i just happened to have with me !.
