All of a sudden, my computer name is 'WORKGRIUP' instead of 'WORKGROUP'!!!!

Something weird is going or someone is tapping into my syst. - how could have this word got changed???????

Should I change it back - what are some things I should be checking for, some concerns relating to this??

I'm thinking that this has to be the work of some type of malware infection. Please follow the instructions for PreWork in my signature, and use both SpySweeper and AVG instead of just AVG.

Post the three resulting logs back here, and we'll have a look to see what RLMs (rotton little monsters) are running around in your PC.
