over the past few days my pc has been randomly restarting, with no warning (running at normal speed, no software crashes etc) and has been happening more and more often. It doesnt perform a standard restart (eg shuts down progs then windows), it suddenly goes to the black system check screens (first boot screen).
so after a quick google search and from what ive been told by a few friends, there is a restarting virus doing the rounds which alot of people seem to be getting, so i ran avg but it didnt bring anything up, tried adaware, still nothing
so i pulled as many files as i could get off the drive onto my secondary drive, reformatted and installed a fresh copy of xp pro incase it was the virus........ but no it still restarts
i have removed the
cpu fan and heat sink, cleaned it along the rest of the board.
also after the reinstall i noticed all the drive letters are jumbled
a - floppy
c - secondary (partition 1)
d - main drvie with os
e - seconday (partition 2)
f - secondary (partition 3)
g - cd
what could be causing this???
