Question HP PS/2 Keyboard Problems

Hello All,
First post.I have a Hewlett-Packard Media Center PC,about a year and a half old.I've 'lost' the on-screen sound bars(for lack of a better term, the green indicators that show how high/low the volume is). It's a multimedia keyboard.Twice within the past week, the keyboard has just gone dead-fine after reboot.I've had sound problems(no sound, sound too fast)since within a month of buying it.Forgive me if i've put separate issues, but to me it seems like they're connected somehow.Do i need to update the drivers for the keyboard,or is there something else that i can do in order to see my volume level again?Do i need a new soundcard for the schitzophrenic coming and going of my sound?Could all of this be related to my keyboard,or am i looking at separate issues? Thanks in advance for your answers and replies.

Welcome to the PCHF russfraz

I'd suggest first step would be to check the HP site and check for latest drivers.
Second step would be to follow the prework link in my signiture to see if there's any malware on the computer.
