Exclamation Loss of DVD and Cd functions

After a home remodel where everything was moved to the garage. I found after hooking up my computer that under device manager my DVD/CD writer and DVD player are in a yellow warning state with a code 37 listed. I have checked the connections and they seem fine.It also states that MS could not inatialize the driver and they are not able to load? I have tried removing the drivers and doing a reinstall but to no avail. I assume because it won't reconize my drives. Any ideas for an old man would be appreciated.
Woody

Hey Woody, did you try removing the drive completely from Device Manager - then re-booting?

Yes I removed them both from device manager but they reappeared the next time I rebooted. I even tried removing the drivers, that didn't work either.
Thanks for your time
Woody

Hi woody,

Have you tried to physically reconnect the drives?

Are you able to open the cd tray?

I would suggest getting completely new drivers for them.

Drivers for CD/DVD drives? Windows installs the automatically...normally extremely robust and new ones are not needed. Infact i dont think i've ever had to install new drivers for a CD drive since 98.
