Unhappy Blue Screen Of Death Please Help

I received an update to my anti virus program (I Believe) and now i am unable to start my computer. I am unable to start up in any of the safe modes. I attempting to repair windows by using my XP disk and everytime I attempt to do so, I receive the Blue Screen of death error message and underneath the technical information it says "USBOHCI.SYS"

I attempted to troubleshoot using Burt P.E. Builder and was unsuccessfull, it would not load and continually gave the blue screen of death error message "USBOHCI.SYS"

Also, once i boot up, it will attempt to boot up then reboot on its on and goes no further than the motherboard welcome screen.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated....... I have no ideas of what it could possibly be..!

First off, that is a usb driver issue. I would do two things.

1. Disconnect everything usb related.
2. Go to device manager (right click my computer > properties > hardware tab > device manager) and uninstall everything that says usb.

Also, is the technical info irq_not_less_than_equal?

Try to reboot and see what happens.

Thanks,

v

OK, Now when attempting to run the Windows XP Repair from the XP CD with all USB devices unplugged, I am getting the blue screen of death but now its saying that "THE BIOS IN THIS SYSTEM IS NOT FULLY ACPI COMPLIANT"

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS OR HOW THIS HAS HAPPENED....

why did you run the repair disk? I'm not getting the full story here.

1. What is your OS?
2. What cd are you trying the repair from?
3. Why did you try the repair?
4. Did you build this machine yourself, or buy it off the shelf?

All bios has been acpi compliant for sometime now, so that is a bit of a misnomer. That's what I want to know what os you are using.

Thanks,

v

Hi Bobby_Digital,

have you tried using the Last Known good Configuration option in the menu that gives you the options to boot into safe mode? I'm assuming you're using windows 2000/XP. if you're using 98 than that won't be much help. You may also want to try disabling acpi in your CMOS setup and try booting if there are no USB devices and the error is ACPI.sys.
