Default Boot Freezes

Hey brand new!!!!
Love the site....

I have a optiplex gx110- running win2000 and aboout half way through the boot, it completly freezes, or at least the screen does....the hard drive continues and I can see that the drivers are all booting, yet with the screen frozen I cant verifiy that. So I reformated and when it went to boot for the first time, it froze in the same spot as before the reformat....my questions are: has anyone ever seen this? Fix?

It boots into safe mode w/ networking fine...I have installed all required updates and svs packs yet it still freezes in the same spot....pls help

thanks!!!

Hi Splitsixty,
Welcome to The PCHF.
Huge apologies that you slipped through the cracks!!
Right then to the problem, there could be a couple of things causing the problems.
Firstly the memory might be a problem, download the app from here and run the test (the instructions are in the "technical info" section.
Secondly let us know what make/model the drive is so I can direct you to the right test bits.
keep us up to date on how you get on.
