Note to Rayboto--- googling this issue brings up some questions about spyware/malware disabling your TaskMgr-- you might want to look into this further when you have some time. You may have a 'bug' of some kind.

Thats what i thought a while ago when i had the problem. should i post a HJT log just in case? perhaps that would be unnecessary

It could not hurt-- but over at HJT --so it gets fast attention.
Have you tried Ad-Aware/spybot --see if they come up with anything?
