Ahhh, wrong discussion group!! Oh well as I'm here...I love my PC, but am really not that well clued up on the intricacies of these wonderful machines. So I'm chuffed to have found such a helpful site. I'm desperately keen to learn more about my PC and am already grateful to Bugsey who RAPIDLY answered a question elsewhere.
One quickie, no matter whether I select shut down, log off or restart my PC (on XP) always just shuts down. At first I thought this was quite amusing, now it's just irritating and leads me to believe there must be something wrong somewhere. Any ideas?

Yep, well, Roxio photosuite 5 actually, but having followed the link you gave, that's almost certainly the culprit. Thanks very much. I guess I really should read all that small print. It's obviously relavent after all and I'll probably learn more...lol.
