Welcome to PCHF Maybe some one has disabled it with policy editor go to run type gpedit.msc and press enter it will open with heaps of options it will be in there I'd say. I just notice you don't have run opps! I have a tool that will run the policy editor without the run being there but why do you want it. Your not trying to give your it guy a headache?

Hello sam, and welcome to the forums.
Follow maddmatts tip, and open gpedit. Then click on Administrative templates>system, then double click on "Prevent access to registry editing tools" . In the dialog box that pops up, check to see that its enabled. Let us know if this solves your problem.

In XP home you can right click on the start menu, go to "properties" and go to the 2nd tab. It will show an option somewhere in there to display the "Run" option.

I mean gpedit.msc is only available in pro and media center.
