Default Startup error - "System disk error"

Hello, my mom's laptop keeps telling her that there is a floppy disk in her floppy drive. But she dosent even have one.
It won't start up, even in safe mode.
Help please??

Welcome to PC Help Forum

If there is no disk in the drive then I'm afraid it's a problem with the Operating System not being found on the hard drive. Make sure there is no bootable CD in the drive also - if not then you may have to re-install Windows.
