Cool Mime

Hello again everyone, I am not sure I am posting in the correct forum, so move me if you must.
I just got a message on my screen while trying to view a slide show on a website.
It read like this, "Some of the MIME types previously associated with the Quick Time plugin are currently associated with other applications. Should I restore these MIME type associations to Quick Time?"
Not knowing what it was, I x'ed it out.
Can one of you brilliant computer experts please tell me what this is, and what to do with it?
I think I got the same message while messing around with Google Earth the other day.

TIA, cb

Once installed, Quicktime associates itself with mp3 files, and becomes your default player and browser plugin for these files. It seems that your previously default player has turned back to the default.

Read more at:
Mike Nelson: Blog

What you should do regarding that message depends on whether you prefer QuickTime. If you like it, click "Yes". Otherwise, "No."

Hello again chiaz, I just read Mike Nelson's blog, it appears that the quicktime plugin is associated with itunes. I've never had anything to do with itunes.
Does quicktime come with anything else? How did I get it?
I don't recall ever being nagged by it before.

Hello again, I don't mean to be a bother.
Just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone could tell me how I might have gotten quicktime in the first place.
Thanks, cb

You might have downloaded it or it came with your PC. And the most recent versions of quicktime are bundled with Itunes.

Hope that helps

Chris
