I'm not sure if this request is legal. I suggest you Google for the answer...

Hello elo.
Are you talking about the boot.ini file, what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to create a custom installation disc, or repair an installation? Any files you need for a repair should be on your installation cd. If youre trying to create a custom install disc, its a little more involved than just copying that file.

I'm not sure what the question is.
If you're wanting to make your current XP Home CD into a XP Home SP2 CD - this guide here will help http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=79016

If you're wanting to know where to download a premade copy...that's actually not allowed and is considered illegal by Microsoft.

i purcharsed xp sp2 about 6 months ago. i attempted to make a copy of it for myself incase i needed it or a friend needed it. i didnt make it bootable, now i have the non bootable xp copy and need the image file for it so i can create a bootable disk, i dont belive it is illegal to make a copy of your own purchased disk w/ a valid xp key.

Making it for yourself is fine; making it for someone else it wrong.
I am actually having this same problem. I made an ISO of my XP CD with some program, but when I went to test my backup copy, it isn't bootable. Go figure.
But I still have my original copy.

The way the licences work with Microsoft is what makes it illegal to copy.

You can LEGALLY use a burnt CD as long as you have a legal licence.
Each CD KEY = 1 licence (unless otherwise stated)
Each licence can only be installed once legally.

Unfortunately this is bordering on illegal talk, so I'm going to have to close the thread.
If you've got any questions about the legality of licences with MS, please feel free to PM me
