Angry XP Reboots

So mainly when I am playing games such as Counter-Strike: Source or F.E.A.R. my computer will just randomly reboot. Sometimes it will do it when I am watvhing video online or browing multiple web pages at the same time.

I have ran several programs to check power and system temperatures, power is very normal and temperatures are all with in normal (no where near getting dangerous)

I have also tried severa different power supplies, different video cards, Motherboards, RAM and disabling my CD rom drive, nothing fixed the problem.

My current setup is Win XP Pro wtih a Pentium D 3.2Ghz processor with 1x2 1Gb Ram(Patriot), an Asus motherboard, and an ATI AGP8x 1950 Pro.

Any suggestion would br greatly appreciated, if any more info is needed on my end please let me know.

check your event viewer (start > run > eventvwr.msc) and look for red exclamation marks near the time it cuts out. Double click the error, click the two pieces of paper to copy to clipboard, and paste that back here. Check both apps and system.

Kneejerk reaction is driver, but we'll see.

There were nothing in the application event log, no errors pertaining to the reboot anyways.
But here is what the system log showed, from the looks of it some sort of driver confliction with the video card?

Event Type: Error

Still leaning towards driver issues. Have you replaced your driver, or gotten a new one from the site? Every hit I got on ' Failed HDCP key binding verification' was for drivers. Which driver are you putting in? If you wouldn't mind, go to start > run > dxdiag > display tab and let me know precisely what card you have in there, as I couldn't find the 1950 pro on the ATI website to verify drivers.

Thanks

I've done a little research, seems tons of people are having this problem, and no one really knows how to fix it, I tried some registry fixes, none of which have helped.

The card I have is a 1950 like i said, here is the exact working from DirectX:
Radeon X1950 Series AGP (0x7280)
my mini Virtual Device Driver (VDD) is the ati2etag.sys file (the one having problems)

I also found some very helpful info from ATI's website, apparently i'm screwed.
Symptoms
On some systems, an "ati2mtag" Event Viewer error may appear under the System log.

With the system started, please open the Control Panel, and select Administrative Tools. When in Event Viewer, notice that an error message pertaining to the ati2mtag will appear under System. The description indicates that "I2c return failed".

Solution
Currently, there is no solution.
And I have installed several different drivers as I said, all for my video card, i'm going to look at getting older drivers and some of what I read was people having problems after they updated drivers.

I'm assuming this is the driver you are using?

Catalyst® 7.1 Display Driver for Windows XP Professional/Home Edition
