Default Urgent help needed

Ok my friend has tried to reformat his laptop with killdisk.
It has been highly unsuccessful as when he inserts the xp disc to install it it says "no boot sector on internal hard drive".
Could this be the xp disc, corrupt format or something else? This is really urgent.
Cheers

Hi Matt

When your mate dumped the OS using killdisk he will have had to set the boot sequence to floppy, just go back into the bios and set the boot sequence to cdrom. Stick the XP disk and away you go.

How would he change it in the bios?

Have a look here for the key/s needed to enter the bios.
http://www.pchelpforum.com/windows-x...ntry-keys.html

Once in look for a section called boot sequence or Boot, it may be under Advanced Settings, use Page Up/Down or -/+ to change settings. Always Save when Exiting and make sure you don't change any other items.
