I've been putting off clearing out some room on my hard drive for a long time, and it's finally caught up with me. I now have only around 300MB left. Over time, to clear up space, i've slowly removed all old programs and files I no longer needed.
Now, i'm left with a hard drive packed full of only important things. The only deletable things left are a ton of personal files and other similar items -- which simply cannot be deleted. I now need to move them into storage on a DVD-rom to free up some desperately needed space.
Here is my problem. Most of these files are sensitive, and if I am going to have them on a DVD, I want it to be password protected, preferably double-password protected in order to shelter the filenames as well. I know with Winzip I can do this, but to create the zipped file, I must have enough harddrive space to hold the file. And I don't. All of the files together make up around 2GB.
What can I do? I would prefer to password protect them with Windows if possible or at least with Winzip. I wouldn't want to use a 3rd-party encryption software that may not work in the future when I need to get to the files. Does anyone have some suggestions?
Thanks!
