Windows XP/2000 - [Fixed] Error posted in the Operating Systems forums; Whenever I go into my download folder under mydocuments I get an "window has encountered a problem...." when I click here tp see what the problem is it says AppName:explorer.exe ...

Default [Fixed] Error

Whenever I go into my download folder under mydocuments I get an "window has encountered a problem...." when I click here tp see what the problem is it says AppName:explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 Modname: xvid.ax Modver:0.0.0.0 offset 003dd11 Then I click here again to get the tech info. and it says docume~1\Owner\locals~1\Temp\dc8f_appcompat.txt. Which file doesnt exist in my computer. ???? Help

Have you been downloading dodgy video's bill?

If you uninstall xVid from your PC from Add/Remove Programs, this will resolve your problem, enough for you to get in a delete whichever movie(s) could be causing this problem.

I dont have that in my add/remove. The last movie i downloaded before this problem was Borat, the comedy movie.

Well I did a search for all file with xvid and deleted them, it worked. Thanks

OK wild,

Just for future reference though, please re-familarise yourself with PCHF Rules. We do not support problems as a result of illegal/pirated/stolen material nor the software used to obtain them. Also, movies can quite often contain virus's and/or malware.
