You have one slight problem here FREN. If you have installed Windows ME before XP, even if we disable Windows ME, there are some files you will need to keep, which are the files stored in c:\ (boot.ini, io.sys e.t.c.). These files are required to boot to your Windows XP partition. However you open up c:\boot.ini, under the section [operating systems] you will see both your Windows XP and ME partitions listed here. You can remove the one line that shows Windows ME. If you are unsure, copy and paste the contents here. You do need to be careful as if you remove the wrong line, you won't be able to boot at all.

Yes I installed first the Windows ME before XP... so you mean to say that if we disable ME there is a posible that my XP can't run?

by the way how i can open up the c:\boot.ini?

The only think I can think of is to change the hard drive configuration via the jumpers on the hard drive and set the xp drive as the master C drive and leave the me drive out for the moment do a repair install of windows xp on the c drive then after all that is done put back the me back in the pc set as a slave so it should be d drive boot the pc and format the me drive.

Nice avatar FREN. No, what I mean is, you can delete all the folders on drive c:\, but don't delete any of the files you see in the main folder (c:\). These are required to bootup your PC. Also make sure none of the programmes you have installed have defaulted to c:\program files instead of d:\program files. If your unsure about any of the folders, rename them first, and when your sure everything is working, delete them.
