Default [Resolved] System restore & WMP won't open

hi when i try to open system restore nothing happens. if i click again it shows up but the screen is blank. i've tried openeing it in safe mode but doesn't work either. i have wmp 11 and it doesn't open at all. i've also been having trouble with internet explorer. it won't open certain web pages or they won't load entirely. also when i try to open aim, i get an errer that says "Cannot start AIM (0x00000001). (IM-0001)".i know that this is alot for one post but i've been trying so many things like running sfc /scannow and many other things but nothing has worked. i've done several virus scans and nothing/minor things show up. so i'd appreciate any help with any or all of these problems

Hi smartypants!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

You got some nasty problems indeed.
Can you access other parts of the control panel?

Got a clue how this all started to happen? Did it all start around the same period of time?

Blue

Yes i can get to other parts of the panel. I have no clue why this is happening but it did all start about the same time.

i'm pretty sure that i found the solution to this problem. i'm not sure if this was what did it or just the straw that broke the camal's back, but i downloaded http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/olereg.vbs and now everything is back to normal. thanks for even taking the time to reply
