Hi

I have windows xp pro with service pack 2 , for the past week or so, sometimes when I boot up or leave hibernation my pc boots up but the screen stays blank, or has weird coloured patterns on it, such as checkers or lines - as if its crashed.

The only thing you can see is my mouse pointer, the desktop is there because I can hear as I'm clicking on folders but I just can't see it.

This is happening often now, I've tried turning on and off the monitor, sys restore etc but nothing is happening.

I don't know much about pc's...well nothing at all really, does anyone know whats wrong? my pc is'nt even a month old yet!

Is there a problem with the graphics card or monitor? please help

Welcome to the forum Daz

We always suggest that you go back to your supplier if you still have warranty on your PC. Let them earn their money!! If we start getting you to do things to the PC then it could have implications with your warranty.

Let us know the outcome tho' as we're always interested.

I don't think they'll do anything, it works fine but for example 3 times out of the 7 or so times the pc has been turned on today its happend, afterwards once u turn off the pc and boot it back up it always comes on as normal
