There may be somthing on the hard drive causing the problem I thought you might have been using your old hard drive do you need the data on it? what OS was on the old hard drive and did the old pc have an nvidia grafix as well? the hard drive should really be set as the master via the jumpers on the back of it and the cd rom should be a slave but it will work the way you have it.

From the bad PC:
- Start the PC up with the CD insterted, and you should be able to boot from it, just like you do with the windows installation CD.
I was trying to burn the memtest but it kept saing the drive is in use by another application.. for some reason... and i have nothing else running.. could it be the fact that my cd-rom is set up as an primary and my hard drive as an secondary.?

Ok i ran the memtest with one of my ram that works alone(by itself) no errors.... then i add the second ram stick in and I've gotten a bunch of errors..... does that means one of my ram sticks is faulty or somthing..?

You should have errors, a bunch of failing address's?

Yep, you have a bad stick there. Your best bet maybe to take that stick down to your local computer store, and ask for an identical replacment.
