Default pc spooler problem

Problem 1
HP 2840 wont print "spooler subsystem" error. When it errors out the spooler service stops.
===========
Microsoft.com has this:
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, stop the Spooler service, and remove the .SHD and .SPL files from your spool directory. In addition, remove any unused or old .TMP files from your Temp directory. The Spooler service can then be restarted.
=================
I read all the docs I could ran cleanspl.exe from the resourse kit..it errored. I manully deleted the .shd and spl files from the windows\system 32\spool\printers folder.
That didnt fix things so I unistalled the printer software and deleted the printers for that printer. I reinstalled it from disk and it failed. It unistalled and rebooted. After that windows didnt run right.

problem 2 It gets worse
After that It boots up really slow and I dont see the start menu and noton antivirus gives a message that it cant start and that the card readers popup stating resources are low. I cant do much without the start menu...the window key doesnot activate it either. I scanned for virus and spyware...nothing. I cant get the run command or to my computer...Starting in safe mode doesnt help either...the start menu is just a thin line in both. When i hover over it i get double arrows but it wont expand.
Problem 3
When booting up the screen flashs 128 ram. The owner says it has done that since it was new but it used all of the 512. I switch memory incase that was a problem . I googled the problem and got this response. Right now it has 1 256 in 1 bank and 1 256 in the other bank.
----------------------------------------------------
Thanks in advance for your help
========================
The HP Pavilion A350n uses PC-2700 type memory and has 2 bank(s) of 2 socket(s) each for a total of 4 memory socket(s) . The HP Pavilion A350n comes standard with 256MB of RAM and supports up to 4GB of RAM . Choose from the memory modules listed above for guaranteed compatible upgrades for your HP Pavilion A350n.

For optimal performance of your HP Pavilion A350n install the maximum amount of RAM in each memory socket. Each memory socket in a Bank must be filled with memory modules from a Kit or not filled at all. The Memory sold for this system is sold in a 2-Piece Kit. Each memory module in the Kit must be installed in the same Bank. If all Banks are filled, you can replace the memory in each Socket of that Bank with memory of a higher capacity memory Kit.
=======================
not sure what that means

Looking again at the 128 ram message when booting it looks like that is for the video driver.

update
I discovered I could get to the run command using the task manager went to service.msc
and tried to start print spooler it says it cant because of a dependent service. I think it is rpc which is disabled ...does anyone know how to enable it once disabled?

Thanks That is helpful.
I have since done a non destructive recovery using HP software...It is still in the process..
I think there is an old password on that service which is why i could get in ...from some long forgotten vpn that was installed.
