Default [Answered] Data Transfer help

First of all apologies if this is in the wrong area to have posted this I wasnt quite sure where to place it.

Hopefully you people can help me.

My brother is getting a new pc (intresting news im sure you will agree).

He has offered me his old one which is substantially better than the steaming pile of poo i currently use as my pc at home.

Anyway i want to take it off his hands but im worried that i will not be able to transfer my itunes music and podcasts to the new pc and i really, really dont want to have to download the bloody lot again.

Is it possible to do this? if so how would i go about it?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Welcome to PCHF grant165!

You could just add the hard drive in your current system into your new system and keep it that way i believe.

take the new pc
create a new folder on the c drive called TEMP
plug in your ipod
open up the ipod via my computer
in here you will see a folder - it will be quite large
copy it to the TEMP folder

next open itunes and update your ipod - your ipod will delete everything on it
now copy the data in the Temp folder to the new itunes folder on your pc
Itunes will see the folder and will convert all the music, sone details and pictures etc ect
now run another update on the ipod - and all of your music will be back on the ipod
