Default Problem's With Automatic Updates!

Hey guys,

I have a Non-Genuine copy of Windows XP Professional.

I recently formated my PC, through Windows Setup by booting from the XP CD.

It seems to be working fine but its not downloading Automatic Updates, the icon comes up in the taskbar but then goes after a while.

When i check on the Windows Update website on 'Review your update history' theres about 40 updates and it says they were cancelled, but one says it failed and it gives an error code 0x80246008, which i have looked up and it says its something to do with the 'Background Intelligent Transfer Service'.

So i go onto the services menu to check it is started and it has, it is also set to Automatic, but it still doesn't seem to download Automatic Updates.

Can anyone help me, if there is something else i need to do please let me know.

If your copy is not genuine then microsoft wont allow you to have updates.

It has before though, usually it wont let me download off the Windows Update website but it lets me get Automatic Updates.
