Default Windows Validation Tool

Well, for quite a while i have been trying to get my version of windows validated as it appears to be that i cant really update my pc without it. So when i go and try to update it, its simply doesnt work, on firefox the following message is given: Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete...... And when i try it on internet explorer it loads very slighlty however the page is never completly loaded and howver much i try i can not load the page... Is there another way to validate my copy of windows or to fix the loading problems? Please can you help and im sure you will find a way

EDIT: P.S I am sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

Hi boomboy,

try a SFC

Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow
You will need your windows XP cd.

Another way to attempt to validate - download IE7 from PC Help Forum.com - Computer Tech Support - and install it. This will need to validate as well.
