Default [Resolved] Shutting down

Hi can any one help me, i have a lap top and when i start it, it boots up ok and runs but after about 30 Min's it just shuts down the screen go's blank and you can not do nothing at all, i have to hold the power button in for 10 secs to get it to switch off. I can start it straight away as the screen just stays blank, so i have to wait a few Min's then it restarts ok. I have tried doing a scan disk for disk error's but when i got to about 70 percent it shut down again. The battery is fully charged the lap top is a Fujitsu Siemens 1.50 GHz 704 MB of RAM, 40 GB hard drive.

Hi irishmale_2003,

Welcome to pchf!

Does it shut down whilst your actively using it, or does it shut down after 30 min of being idle?

EDIT: Also what version of Windows are you using, and have you ever received any error messages?

That page that flashes up, is it a blue screen?

Also, one final question, what is the make and model of your PC?

Ok, irish these are called BSOD's (Blue Screen of Death).

In order to analyze your problem, I'll need the logs of what happened during the BSOD.

- Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer and click on the System section.

- Look for event 1001, which should have the following information:
Event ID: 1001
Source: Save Dump
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was ...
...A dump was saved in:....... Note the path

^ There should be one of these for each BSOD.

- Where you post your reply, click on Advanced. Above the reply box should be an attach icon (paperclip). Click on this followed by Browse and attach some of the .dmp files back here.
