Unhappy Problems running a diagnostic scan using Microsoft "Help and Support"

Dear sir/Madam,

Today, I went into Help and support and attempted to run a diagnostic scan.

I received the following message

"The page you are trying to view cannot be displayed. This may be because: · If you are trying to view this content over the network, there may be network congestion or a problem with your connection. · There might be an error in the page's address. · The page might not be available. Please check your network connection or try another page."
As my anti-virus had turned itself off, I ran an anti-virus and anti-spyware scan. Both proved clean. My internet provider Blueyonder said everything seemed fine to them. Perhaps microsoft were having problems.

I tried Windows Live one care scan and received the following error message 0x08600807.

I have internet connection so what is the problem please and how do I resolve it.

Yours Truly

Justjohnnygo

Perhaps microsoft were having problems.
It is actually quite possible... have you tried again ?

If it's still no good-- there are so many little things that can casue this -- I suggest going here and running their "full tests"

Welcome to PC PitStop!

-- see if it suggests any tweaks/improvements.

Hi ih8bills

I went to PC Pitstop.

Because it offered some form of diagnostic check, I bought PC Pitstop Optimize online.

I also purchased the cd-rom , for if and when I change pc.

I did not intend to purchase it, but yours was the only reply and so I thought "Well try it!!"

Tx justjohnnygo

PS I had wondered if the Windows diagnostic would return if I upgraded to Internet Explorer 7? However, no one in my family likes IE7 and technologically, my kids are quite favourable to change, unlike me. But if they said, "Dad upgrade!" I would. But they said, "Go back to IE6, we understand it better."

Optimize is great-- I own it -- but I did not mean for you to spend money
They offer a free online system scan which does many of the same things "Optimize" does. In fact it was so popular, and many users had asked for an application for their PC's... that was the reason they made the program in the first place. Now that you have it --you should run it about once or twice a week-- keeps you tuned right up. I run it about that much it's so convenient-- a lot of the things it does --you can do manually... but not in a few seconds like the program does.

You have to "sign up" for the free service-- but it's your email address and a password- all you need.
I should have explained better-- that's my fault and I apologize.

I actually have IE7 installed-- it works fine with it.
The PC Pitstop site is owned by PC World magazine... it would not "look good" if IE & did not work with it, eh?
I use Firefox 2 mostly though...

Hi ih8bills

Tx again.

It is done now.

Since I am not very good with pcs, perhaps it is best that PC Pitstop optimizes for me.

I still find the jargon difficult to understand.

tx again
