I am building a new machine for my daughter and have had issues with windows stalling during the install. It formats the drive and then during the loading files needed process stops at different points. Most of the time it is around 50-60% some times as low as 20ish. but it always locks up. I have tried different HDD's and the same HDD's in other machines (they work) I was told by a professional that it was the motherboard and I sent it back and got a new one. I still have the problem.

Any Ideas????

I'm not sure why the professional told you that - Windows XP is extremely picky with it's memory - download Memtest86 - Memory Diagnostic Page onto a floppy/CD and boot off it....and test your memory - this will let you know if it's the problem or not.
