Default [Answered] Which OS is For me

Ok guys im back and i found what was wrong with my computer regarding the blue screen. It seems that my windows xp proffessional, which i recieved from my moms friend was pirated, so i could not do the important updates to fix the problem. I was wondering which OS would be the best to upgrade to from Windows 2000, thank you

Windows XP Home. Theres not much benefit in Pro apart from advanced networking features which arent needed for a typical home user.

oh yeh sorry about that i forgot, its 98, 98SE, and ME only. You could get the OEM version for about £55 here (not sure about in states probably cheaper), and that isnt upgrade would that be ok?

If you were to buy the OEM version or Retail version of XP Home, dont you just stick it in the cd rom drive, boot off the CD , then partition/format the hard drive, or am i missing something?
