Question [Answered] Generic USB Stick driver

Hello all,

my parents recently bought a new PC, and I got them a USB stick to move files from the old PC (Win98) to the new one. When I plug in the USB Stick to the old PC, Windows is asking me for a driver. This is a really cheap stick, and I cannot find a driver for it. Can anyone help me...
GTX 512mb Memory Stick.

Thanks all

I think they quit making Win98 drivers for some thumb drives. I got a cheap thumb drive and never did find a driver for it for my old computer.

If it's very new... USB 2 drive (?)-- it may not be compatible with ol '98. USB 2 did not exist then.

You could take the old drive out of the case --and install it in the new PC-- then you could access those files directly... and much faster. You would not even have to mount the drive to the case-- just plug it into the mobo and PSU and set it on the bottom of the case, or a small empty cardboard box (being careful not to drop it or knock it off) untill you transfer everything you need.

Or you could mount it permanently/transfer your files/wipe & format the drive and use it for backups/music storage.

Or if you have a network adapter on both PC's use a crossover network cable. I bought a Sandisk Cruzer Crossfire and that is not compatible with win98.
