Question File ql1240.sys

My pc locked up,I tried to reboot but recieved error ntldr is missing or corrupt.I ended up having to reformat my hard drive.I've been trying to reinstall win xp prro sp2 but during setup my pc stops and displays "File ql1240.sys is corrupt".Please,how do I repair this problem.Thank You whoever can help me.

Inadvertantly you have posted in the wrong forum which should be XP. I shall move it shortly.
Are you trying to install SP2 from the download off MS or from the SP2 disk.
