Default iTunes Ruined my D drive

Ok after i installed itunes my CD drive does not appear in my computer, in hardware manager there is a large rellow excalamaition point next to it. Also whenever i go into iTunes it says the registry is missing for buring and importing cds. I reinstalled and nothing happened. Im very very angry my cd diagnostics were as follows:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Build 2600)
IBM 831027U
iTunes 7.0.2.16
CD Driver 2.0.6.1
CD Driver DLL 2.0.6.1
Video Driver: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS/XT\GeForce 6800 GS/XT


IDE\DiskMaxtor_2F040L0__________________________VA M51JJ0, Bus Type ATA, Bus Address [0,0]
IDE\CdRomHL-DT-ST_CD-ROM_GCR-8480B_______________1.02____

Current user is an administrator.
Failed loading CD / DVD drives, error -43. Try doing a repair install on iTunes from the "Add or Remove Programs" control panel.

Hi CsOwnage, i've never actually used iTunes (and don't intend on doing so)...unfortunately I don't know the answer to this one, perhaps one of the other techs does/
