Hi DB, the only date on that one is 16/07/2006, so I'll need you try try again. Reboot, press F8 until you reach the boot screen, and then select "Enable Boot Logging", and boot normally. Then reboot and do the same thing again, this time, wait for about 30 seconds into the Windows loading screen and then hit the reboot button. Each time we enable boot logging, the log appends itself to ntbtlog.txt. We will then have a full list of what is starting up, and also half a list (because we rebooted). Does that make sense?

Hi DB,

I can't see memory being the cause of this particular problem, but it wouldn't hurt.

I did notice something in you log though, there was a driver called wpsdrvnt.sys, which was trying to load on drive d? What's on drive d?

Sorry MadMonkey,
I forgot to mention that this system of mine is dual boot.
Xp Pro Japanese is D (this is the primary drive where I installed the drivers and everythng else) This is the drive I use the most since it is in Japanese and I am in Japan. This is exposed to net

XP Home English is C (This is the one I would rather use but being where I am permenatly, not used so much) Not exposed to Net
I have an original 40gig Hdd master, and a Seagate Barracuda 250gig slave

I remember once having the video drivers on the C, but for some reason I took them out of there, Should the drivers be on the C only? due to english?
With the drivers. One the C drive I did notice there is a question mark by the VGA since no video drivers are there. I think at one time I had the same drivers on both drives and the game did not work well.
Is there anything else you need to know

Hi DB,

I'm a bit confused that if they were installed from C:, how the drivers would have been loaded onto d: , there is also, like you said quite a bit starting up here.

OK,

Are you comfortable using the registry (regedit.exe)?

If so, can you do the following for me:
- Open up regedit, go to edit, and find: wpsdrvnt.sys
- Right click on the open folder on the left hand pane, should be called something like, wpsdrvnt and then export it to a location you will remember it. The purpose of exporting it, is that if you find problems later on, all you need to do is double click on that file, and it will bring back what your about to delete.
- Right click on that folder again and delete.
- Follow the same process again until regedit says "Finished Searching through Registry".
- Reboot and make sure everything is working.

- Open up regedit, go to edit, and find: santfilt.sys
- Right click on the open folder on the left hand pane, and then export.
- Right click on that folder again and delete.
- Follow the same process again until regedit says "Finished Searching through Registry".
- Reboot and make sure everything is working.
