Hi MadMonkey
Here is what I have done
Ran Panda virus software, then Ad-awareSE, spybot
then
disk clean up
then
took out cookies
then
defrag all drives
then
took out NVidia drivers from device manager and also checked Add and Remove programs to see if there was anything and there was not
then
ran Cab cleaner
then
ran driver cleaner
then
regcleaner
I was not able to Scandisk even at command prompt. I box came up telling me it did not exist. but I ran chkdsk for what it is worth
How does XP do it?
Any other instructions?

Did any of these pick anything up?

That's right it's: chkdsk /f
It will ask you to reboot. It may take a few hours.

Ad aware had 10 files and I deleted them, but other than that nothing
I was able to chkdsk but not chkdsk/f
Is there anything you need to know about my system? or anythng I can do at this point
Just a thoght
When I was replacing the PSU, I used a can of compressed air you find at computer stores to blow out the dust, for a fraction of a second some foggy type stuff came out of the can, I did not thing anything of it since it was in the can.
Could I have done something to the videio card?

OK, you can also do it from My Computer, right click on Local Disk (c), go to Properties. Click on the Tools tab, and click on Check Now, under "Error Checking". Tick both check box's and then click Start and then reboot.

Also next time you start your PC, press F8, and enable boot logging. You log should be saved in c:\bootlog.txt. Any failures during bootup will show up here. Attach this file here if you like. If you still have a problem after all of this, enable boot logging again, and then press the restart button after about 30 seconds of the windows logo screen. We may be lucky enough to identify which driver it's stopping at.
