Default [Pending] re instaling MBR

right now when i turn my laptop on it says no boot sector found on hard disk. well i was able to recover my mbr and numerous other files will reinstaling my mbr help and if so how do i do it? i have a copy of win xp pro but when i tell the comp to run the cd drive first it says no bootable decives found. please some one help

It sounds like your hard drive as snuffed it.
Does the bios see it?

Wolfey - bigfoot is running XP Pro Says so in the first post

What brand laptop is it Bigfoot? Most have a recovery CD that you should be able to run - this will remove all data on your computer however.
