Well i just deleted both RAID sets and then created a new RAID set with 3 of the HDD's and added a 64K Stripe. i just left the last one by its self. But now when i go to install windows it says that there are no HDD's?

You may need to enter teh BIOS and disable the RAID on that single port.
That way it should be detected in the windows setup.

Well i went into my BIOS settings and the only thing that looked like it had to do with raid or my HDD's was under ADVANCED -> Onboard Device Config -> Onboard Si13114 Controller [Enabled] and Onboard Si13114 Mode Setting [Raid] (should i set it to Sata?) other than that i did not see anything that would seem to have to do with My HDD's or RAID?

EDIT: KNOPPIX can see the 1 HDD that i dont have in RAID?

EDIT: Do i need to do a Low level format on that single HDD? ( it gives me that option in my RAID setup menu?)

Hi broken, no you shouldn't have to do a low level format on the single drive.

Have a look inside your case - do you have any more SATA ports?

If you switch that setting to SATA - you won't be able to have raid at all - except software raid...which would do pretty much the same thing you're after....

That's your call really It just means that the RAID will be controlled by Windows, and not by the hardware itself...

What are the drawbacks of doing it this way?

Is it better to do it this way or should i just get the drivers on the floppy and do it that way?

Look at "my pc" - if you set it up this way, it's almost exactly the same setup as what i've got my hard drives as.

I'd personally always do it this way and always have a hard drive dedicated to windows...always.

Well I took a look inside my PC and saw only 4 sata slots but they were all being used. But the slots were labeled sata 3 4 5 6 I looked all over and there were no other says slots. So now my only option is out the drivers on a floppy and do it that way?

I'm at my bros house and just out the raid drivers on a floppy. But. If that dosent work then what?
