Hi guys,
I will be getting a Thinkpad X60 next week that has no cd-rom or floppy drive

. I am thinking of doing a fresh install of windows by:
1) Creating a USB boot disk
2) Coppying the i386 folder from my Windows XP installation cd-rom onto the USB disk.
3) Coppying smartdrv.exe onto the USB disk.
Then I will:
4) Boot my laptop from the USB disk
5) run smartdrv.exe
8) Finally, run winnt.exe from the i386 folder to proceed with the installation.
Thats it. Do you guys think this will work? Do you have any other methods or suggestions to get the task done? Thanks in advance!
