Default help with scroll bar?

Hello, was wondering if anyone here would know or could direct me to the right thread to get some help with my scroll bar question?? which is...recently my using my laptop and logging on the internet, every web page I view my scroll bar will automatically take off and scroll all the way down to the bottom of every page...and will also do this on my desktop continually running through all items there. sometimes I can get it to stop for a second by pushing the arrow up key, but that only lasts for a second...any thoughts or opinions??? or is my pc just close to death?LOL

Hi Namloco, welcome to the PC Help Forum.

This is definately not a Processor/CPU problem, so I'll move it to Windows XP.

Tap your space bar a couple of times - make sure there's nothing jamming it.
Spacebar is the keyboard shortcut for scroll down.

Pull the space bar off gently, try a different angle if it looks like it might snap. Take off the little rubber pieces underneath, and clean everything. There is probably some dust holding it down even when it isnt pressed.

Hi namloco
Have you tried attaching an external keyboard and mouse and disabling the mouse pad?
