Exclamation [Fixed] Windows SP2 Help!

Okay...

A while ago I had reformatterd my pc. I completly forgot all about Upgrading to SP2. So last night I allowed Windows update to upgrade my SP1 to SP2. After that was done It was successful. Then on reboot..the loading screen 'hangs' there and does not boot up. So I figured it was just a simple error. I tried o reboot again..same thing..So I attempted to boot in safe mode. the first time, It worked and allowed me to boot in safe mode..I attempted sys restore but it failed..when I went to reboot again in safe mode..it got stuck at the Mup.sys I think :S and then after awhile showed a blue screen "Stop: c0000221 {bad image checksum} The image rpcrt4.dll is possibly corrupt"...I was like what the hell. So I got on this computer (Windows 98) and looked around for help. I was desperate for help. All I found was thing on telling me to delete **** or yadda yadda...I could never get any of it working..

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!

Other computer specs:
- Intel Celeron 2.4 GHZ processor
- 768 MB Ram
- Dell Dimension 2400

I think your Master Boot Record got hosed somehow.
2 ways to fix it I know of:

A repair install from the Windows CD

or

boot from the same CD and use the recovery console FixMBR command.Find Recovery console commands spelled out here:

Recovery Console Commands

maybe someone else has a better suggestion...

If it is XP Home there is no default password-- just hit enter at the prompt.
