ok, when i first got my laptop the usb was working perfectly at 2.0 then after about a year the graphics card driver got corrupted and we had to re-install windows, after that my usb went bak to 1.1 and was working perfectly except for every now nd then i would get a stop error with a blue screen of death, i have uploaded numerous memory dumps to microsoft but they're still working on it, then i went into device manager and uninstalled my all my usb drivers then restarted so it re-installed them, now it is working again at 2.0 with no stop errors, but now if i plug in anything which is removable storage like an ipod or memory stick, i can access it fine for about 2 mins then it pops up a sppech bubble from the system tray saying "windows was unable to save the data for F:#mft please save the file somewhere else" or something like that. i can't access the memory stick any more after it says that, so i unplug it ad plug it back in, but it says one of the usb devices attatched to this computer has malfunctioned. so i have to either restart or uninstall my usb driver then re-install it before it will work again. any help please?

Sorry for the lack in reply killo!
Perhaps there's a hardware problem with your USB ports, are you sure you're running the latest drivers? |

My welcome to PCHF killo!
have you tried updating windows via Microsoft Windows Update ? (do that in internet explorer) Blue: i dont think the drivers would come from the laptop manufacturer as they are all provided and signed by microsoft. Although i could be wrong. |
