Default [Fixed] Bios AGP setting

I will be upgrading to a 7600GS AGP video card here soon
Question about the bios
Currently I believe it is P7 version My Mobo is an D845HV

The AGP setting in bios, I cannot find where the settings are for 1X 2X 4X etc. AGP is a 2.2 version
as for wwhat I have under AGP see the following

Advanced to Video configuration
(2 options)
AGP Aperture size set now at 64MB other option is 256MB

Other option
Primary video Adapter now set at AGP with the option to set it at PCI

Where are the 1X 2X4X settings in case I need to access them?

I will be flashing my bios here too so I can accomadate a P4 2.6 GHz processor. I will do that before I go into messing around changing the video board out. Does anyone have any ideas on how I should be thinking?
thanks a bunch

As far as I can see-- this board only runs 4X.

I agree with ih8bills.

Alot of older motherboards (which yours is if you have to flash the bios for it to support 2.6ghz which is quite old as well now).

Most AGP motherboards near the end of their exsistance, used to default to the max speed anyway, so there is no need to change it - not that it did much that was noticeable.

With your AGP Aperture size - try to have it half of what your system memory is - so if you have 512mb, put it to 256mb
If you have 128mb ram - put it to 64mb.

Thank you Gentlemen for your input.
I assume it is not there, I will leave the other setting at 64MB
Yes, it is a old Mobo I bought it in 2001. I am trying to extend the life a little more and play games with kidz. Also I hope to get my thrill by doing this on my own. In the future I shall build from ground up. Yes it is a 4X with a Geforce MX400 video card.
Regards

Hey...it's a good way to learn...

just don't expect miraculous performance out of this card with this mobo-- you will see an improvement-- but may not be able to play all the games...especially the newer ones.

One more thing... when you update the BIOS be careful.

It is not a real big deal--BUT... it can be if you lose power in the middle of the update. It only takes about 30 seconds-- so the odds are long that there could be a power issue during a flash.

Follow directions carefully.
Make sure you have the correct BIOS for your motherboard
Write down the version of the current BIOS, the NEW BIOS, and the flash utility ....if there is one.
