Default [Fixed] Windows MCE Remote Control and SPDIF

Hi,

I currently have Windows Media Center installed on my PC, and with it the Microsoft Remote control. The problem is, that my sound currently runs through the SPDIF on my motherboard. This means that the volume of whatever i'm playing cant be controlled by changing the master volume, but the WAVE. Many programs, and indeed the remote control are 'bound' to the master volume, which now has no effect. Is there any way i can get the remote to attach itself to the WAVE control so that i can control the volume running through the SPDIF.

Thanks.

Hi vivek

Is this site any good to you; eirikso.com » How to control your amplifier from the MCE IR-blaster
if not I'll have a look further.

Well in effect that works, but i dont have a remote for my amp, and the MCE remote control only works by learning from the original remote control. I was just hoping there was some way to link the volume control on the remote control to the WAVE on the PC volume control, as this would solve the problem. I've come across ways around it, such as the link you referred me to, and also a volume tracker which allows the WAVE to vollow the MASTER. Not to worry though, unless you happen to come across a specific way of actually controlling the wave volume directly with the remote, don't worry about it. I guess i'll just have to live with it! Thanks for your help though
