My friend can't ask this, because he says it'll take 20 minutes for the pages to load, so I'm asking for him. Ever since his sister moved in for two weeks and started using his computer, the internet has gotten very, very slow, and a lot of things fail to load, sometimes entire websites.

We play an online game together, and it's taking him 30 minutes to even log on. Also, as with the internet, it's running very sluggishly, and things just aren't loading like they should.

I figure the problem may be viral in nature, though he used a virus scan (McAfee, downloaded an update just a week or so ago) that produced only cookies. He cleaned out his cookies, but the problem persists. There IS a new update for the virus scan, but he says it freezes every time he tries to download it!

What can he do? I'll relay any questions to him, but he could really use some help, and you guys helped me before, so I figure this is the place to ask! Thanks.
