Default [Fixed] Video playback error

Hi,
Recently I have formatted my computer and thus re-installed all my hardware and OS. After doing this I now have a strange video playback error. All my videos opened in winamp, WMP, VLC and every other player around play in black and white/greyscale, or with very low contrast. I have looked and played about with the Nvidia control panel but had no luck on fixing this error.
The strange thing is, video playback in browser (eg. YouTube, Google Video) all play fine without this problem.
I have reinstalled my codecs, tried different codecs, hundreds of players and nothing is working.
Just wondering if anyone has a clue as to what it might be?
System specs are in profile.
Thanks alot

Hey v3n0m,

Welcome to PCHF.

It's sounds like an overlay problem. Go back to the NVidia Conrol Panel. If your in classic mode, go to the section called Color Correction. Change "Apply Changes To" section from Desktop to Overlay, and alter your settings from here.

Thanks for the help.
I've tried to adjust the overlay settings, both contrast and brightness to max and the video playback is still 90% greyscale, although i can see faded/dull colours.
I honestly have no idea whats causing this as the drivers are all as standard, havent edited anything in nvidia control panel :S

Can you find out if this is specific to any particular file, just .avi files or .mov, .mpg, .wmv?
