Tried once more to install the Office 2000 recommended updates
The installation failed 10_ERR_BAD_BLOCK
The device, %1, has a bad block

Since I have retried the operation and cleaned the physical hard drive, it must be use newer media. But as you say Office 2000 still works well, so perhaps I am worrying toomuch.

I've upgraded 3 drivers and also awaiting a BIOS scanTouchstone are going to send me the results.
