Default Certain thing won't install.

Recently I had to re-install Windows, I am trying to install the CD I got with my Motorola phone. It is very useful. I insert the CD but it doesn't auto run, so I go in to My Computer and double click it, a box comes up and says something like:

"Motorola phone tools is preparing to install blah blah"

The loading bar goes all the way up and then it just stops. I opened Task Manager and under Processes "Set38.tmp" appears as the installer is loading, but it dissapears as the installer does.

I have restarted the computer, the CD is fine and I have Explored the CD and tried the setup from there but I get the same problem.

Hi Vamp, you should be able to download the Motorola Phone Tools off the internet somewhere. Best bet would be Motorola.

As far as I know, you have to purchase Phone Tools.

Ok, it might be the CD is dirty/scratched

It might also be that the type of installer package that it uses is corrupt on your computer (there are around 3 different packages that can be used.

It might be worth your time to do a system file check

Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow
Make sure your windows cd is ready

I done that, still the CD wont install. It doesn't even auto run anymore, I have to go in to D:/Boot/Setup.exe

I just tried the CD in another PC and it worked fine, so it's something to do with my PC.

I had installed this before, but when I formatted my HD and transfered my stuff back over, it wouldn't work, so I uninstalled it, I did a search for any files left behind but there are none.
