Default [Fixed] Dep

Hi can any one help with a prob on one of the computers where i work
we got a new tower and installed windows XP pro every thing was ok
every thing was working it is on a network and logged on ok one of the girl's in the office installed SAGE accounts which is on the other computers with no prob's then every thing went wrong
when i try to get into any thing on the computer it comes up with a message saying DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION to help protect your computer windows has closed this program
it says to go to control panel to solve the prob but when i try to do this it closes every thing down
it gives me the option to go into group policy then administrative templates then windows components then security centre then it says change setting to enabled and re-start when i do all this nothing changes and i get the same problem saying DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION
any help with this problem would be much appreciated

I was a little confused about what you said. In one sentence you said you coundn't get into Control Panel, in another you said you made the changes and it didn't work?

If you have problems accessing DEP, then try it in safe mode.
If you did manage to get into it, then make sure you have selected the programmes you with to make DEP excempt from. There will be already two on the list "Run DLL an an App" and "Windows Explorer". Make sure "Windows Explorer" has a check against it and also add any other programmes your having problems with.
