Default Installing Windows XP from a IDE harddisk

I have to reinstall Winxp often, so I'm considering trying to put the CD on a bootable harddisk in my PC, so when I want to install windows all I have to do is boot from that harddrive. How do I do this? If I copy all the files from the CD to the harddrive, will it boot? and work?
