Are you openining dos via run on the start menu?

If not try going start>Run>type cmd>Enter then see what happens.

Hi ultim,

There are two commands you can use to open the command window, try cmd or command.

ultim,

Normally when you open a command window, you get c:\documents and settings\??>. If not, can you tell me what you see in this window?

From there, you can just type in tracert [ip address] for example: tracert 86.141.10.68
